The artist’s multi-layered works reflect how personal and collective memory is constructed and influenced by cultural images through natural and processed materials. His use of mythological elements coalesces with his treatment of objects, combining materials with optical illusions, geometric abstractions, and color gradients. Ahmet Güneştekin has acquired Palazzo Gradenigo, one of the magnificent palaces in Venice that witnessed centuries of elegance and refinement with its design. The artist-led institution, Güneştekin Art Refinery, will operate in the palace, which bears the typical features of Venetian architecture with valuable frescoes by eighteenth-century painters. Palazzo Gradenigo has been permitted for exhibitions and art events by museums, galleries, and other art institutions. The palace, with a glorious past blending old and new styles, is also one of the main exhibition spaces of the Venice Biennale. Güneştekin Art Refinery, supported by the Güneştekin Foundation, will carry out its operations in this palace, aiming to enhance cultural dialogue and support young artists in their endeavors.
