Nazan Azeri graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Law in 1975. After practicing law for a while, she entered the Painting Department of Marmara University Faculty of Fine Arts in 1989. Between 1994 and 1996, she completed her master’s thesis on “The First Female Painters Within Westernization Movements” at Marmara University Institute of Social Sciences. She completed her Ph.D. with her thesis titled “Playfulness in Visual Arts: Renaissance-Dada-Surrealism” between 1996 and 2000. From 1993 to 1994, she served as a board member at Unesco-AIAP, UPS Association, and worked on copyright issues in art. In 2004, as a guest of the 20th IFSAK Photography Days, she organized the “Transformation” exhibition featuring artists using photography in their works and participated in the exhibition. Since 1998, she has been serving as an Assistant Professor at Beykent University Faculty of Fine Arts.
